We announce the death of 77 year old Gerald Simelda, better known as “Jep/Waps” of Laudat. He died on Saturday 6th, December 2025 at the DCFH
He leaves to mourn his:
Partner – Eileen Rolle
Son – Julien Simelda
Daughter-in-law – Marisa Gabriel-Simelda
Granddaughters – Zarah and Zuri Simelda
The Gabriel Family
His brothers – Joseph Simelda in Dominica, Pierre, Julio, Paulo, Jean-George Simelda in Martinique
His sisters, Bertha in Dominica, Glyslin, Juliette, Rose Marie, Marie Julie and Marie-Louise in Martinique
Relatives including Clem Stedman & Family, Edwin (Bolo),Kenrick, Curtis, David, Sandra, Chris, Joyce, Joanne and Jodie.
Close Family friends including Samuel Reid, Joey Julien, and Roosvelt Betrand.

The Community of Laudat
The body of the late Gerald Simelda aka Jep/Waps will be transported from Lyndhurst Funeral Home for viewing at 2:30pm on Wednesday 17th, December 2025 at the Laudat Catholic Church.Funeral Mass begins at 3pm followed by interment at the Laudat Cemetery.
