Gifford Irish

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of 56 year old Gifford Irish of Portsmouth, who resided at Castle Comfort.  He was a former employee of the NBD and businessman. He died on February 16, 2025

He leaves to mourn his wife: Zarina

Children: Naya and Nyron,

Brothers: Ainsworth, Roderick, Aylmer, Michael, Rawlesworth, 

Sisters : Joycelyn and Ilona,

Aunts :  Miranda Edouard and Nena Joseph and their families,

Nephews: Alister, Leslie, Nathan, Ali and Aaden.

Nieces : Katherine Milva, Krisani, Whitney and Coralie.

Adopted nieces Collin Powell and Stasher Lucien

Mother in law: Clautilda  Lawrence,

Father in Law: Augustus Matthew

Sisters in law: Julia, Chandra, Glenda and Lena

Brother in law : Alexander St Clair,

 Three grand nephews and four grand nieces,

God children: Carleen, Jenevie and Aura

Close relatives and friends including His Excellencies Charles Savarin and Hurbert Charles, the Savarin, Connor, Angol and Lowe families of Portsmouth, Mervin Irish, Merlin Telemaque and their families, the Lamothe, Morvan, Dubois, Mornlight Phillip, Georgina Liburd and Janita Thomas and their families. Theodora, Roland, Synt,  Alithia, Benny, Helen Charles, Alphonsia Best, Curt  Christopher, Rueben Thomas, Jerry Christian, Peter and Ferdinand Greenaway, Jeffrey Coipel,  Horseford Nicholas, Ellingsworth Edwards, Gerald Jno Baptist, the past and present staff of NCBD/NBD, the tenants of Just Cool Resorts in Check Hall and NCN Apartments at Castle Comfort,  the Dominica Methodist community, many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. 

The body of the late Gifford Irish will be transported from Lyndhurst Funeral Home for viewing at 9:30am at the Bethesda Methodist Church in Roseau on Thursday, March 27. Funeral service begins at 10:00am followed by internment at the Portsmouth Methodist Cemetery.
