Joannas “Marley” Baptiste
We announce the death of 71-year-old Joannas “Marley” Baptiste, of Zicack, Portsmouth, also known as “Teacher Marley”. He died on Monday, 20th October, 2025.
He was a former teacher of the Vielle Case, Penville, Savanne Paille, St. John’s, and Roosevelt Douglas Primary schools.
He left to mourn:
Wife: Nennette Daniel Baptiste
Son: Marcus Baptiste
Daughters: Marette, Marva, Marcia, and Megan Baptiste, Euely Baptiste, and Marlisa Baptiste Bruno
Members of the Dominica Police Force.

The body of the late Joannas “Marley” Baptiste (also known as “Teacher Marley”), will be transported from the Lyndhurst Funeral Home to the Portsmouth Roman Catholic Church on the 15th of November. The funeral service begins at12:00 p.m., followed by interment at the Portsmouth Roman Catholic Cemetery.
