Henderson Griffith

Hendy joined Sperry Corporation, Sperry Gyroscope division located in Great Neck, NY in 1973 as Junior and Accountant. He was tutored, mentored by management and served in many disciplines throughout his career, including pricing and proposal preparation, preparation of labor, overhead and G&A rates, cost estimating, purchasing, contracts administration, program financial administration, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Foreign Military Sales contracting, accounting and finance.

He was identified as a high achiever and a key potential management prospect; as a result he was transferred to the Sperry Gyroscope Clearwater facility in November of 1977 where he served in key management positions including: Manager of Financial Administration and Controls, which included contracts and pricing; Director of Finance and Business Administration, which included responsibility for the overall accounting function, payroll, Contracts Administration, Export/Import Compliance,
Government Compliance, Program Financial Management, and financial reporting. In 1998 he was appointed Acting General Manager of the Clearwater facility and was instrumental in winning key programs, and critical congressional plus ups for other programs.

Hendy attended the Advanced Program Management course at Defense Acquisition University, Fort Belvore, VA, in 1999. At the conclusion of the course he was awarded a certification in Project Management. He possesses expert knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Foreign Military Sales contracting, International Tariff in Arms Regulations, EVMS, and program financial controls.

Hendy received bachelor degrees in accounting and finance from the University of South Florida in 1981. He successfully completed part one (1) of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam and three (3) parts of Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam. He received specialty training in Cultural Diversity and served as trainer for the Hercules Corporate Cultural Diversity Program. He conducted numerous training sessions on EVMS to local program personnel and is recognized as the local EVMS expert. He received extensive and advanced training in Contracts Management, from Defense Acquisition
University and other institutions.

He is a member of the Society of International Affairs (SIA), Project Management Institute (PMI), an alumni of Defense Acquisition University, and the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEI). He is a former Director of the Pinellas County Chapter of the National Association of Accountants.
