Dearest Robin, we would like to offer deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved Chaddie on behalf of the Downes family. A kind but cautious gesture on Chaddie's part in 1978 led to a union of over 40 years. Chaddie was a vey helpful and humble person, full of intellectual vigour and curiosity in both the natural and social sciences. He was affable, easy going and fun loving in his own way. He can be described as a quite "radical" who held relatively strong view about life and personalities. Chaddie had his fair share of challenges in life but handled them in his own stoic fashion. As he transitions to his new life, his family, relative and friends, should be comforted that Chaddie made a significant contribution to education, science and social life. Stay strong until you meet again.
