VELDA CLESTINE BAILEY née Forde, aged 80, formerly of Mount Hill St. George, Oxnards Heights, St. James and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 28, 2025 in Calgary, Alberta. Retired Senior Teacher – Ministry of Education, former long-standing President of The International Association of Minister’s Wives and Widows (Barbados) and a pillar of the Gemswick Church of the Nazarene.
Wife of the late Rev. Anthony J. Bailey – Church of the Nazarene.
Mother of Anmarie Bailey (Brathwaite), Monetta Bailey and Damon Bailey-Lynch (all of Canada).
Grandmother of Jaheem Bailey and Kaiden Bailey-Lynch (both of Canada).
Sister of the late Herma and Vivian Forde (USA), Lionel Ward, Ila Forde (Canada) and Pearlese Cumberbatch.
Aunt of many cherished nieces and nephews.
Cousin of Velma Carter

A Homegoing Service for the late Velda Clestine Bailey will take place on Tuesday January 6, 2025, at the chapel of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 11:00 a.m. (8:00 a.m. Mountain Standard Time) followed by the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Donations in Velda Bailey’s memory may also be made to local Alzheimer’s or Dementia research or care organizations. The body of the late Velda Bailey will repose in the Colin Parkinson Memorial Chapel, Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Monday January 5, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
