Doris Elmina Brathwaite
DORIS ELMINA BRATHWAITE also known as โMAโ was born in Valley Land St, George to the late Geraldine Brathwaite and Christopher Lawerance on November 19, 1929, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026. She was a member of St. Georgeโs Parish Church Mothers Union.
She was fondly referred to as โMaโ not only by her family but by individuals, throughout Glebe land, Valley Land and Salters. One of her favorite things to do on Sunday afternoons was to take a bus ride around the island with friends simply to relax. She was a member of St Georgeโs Parish Church where she served for many years as part of the Mothers Union.
Mother of Randolph (USA) Brenda Howell, Ermel, Vonda, Errol, Harley, Monica Brathwaite-Williams, Joycelyn (USA) Anderson, Richard (Canada) Glendon, and Jacqueline (USA) predeceased by her eldest daughter Eureen Brathwaite-Wiltshire (USA).
Grandmother of Ricardo, Denise, Everton, Cheryll, Allison, Corey, Petriana, Janelle, Shakeelah, Shamir, Shontelle, Kathy, Keisha, Johnathan, Shawn, Judith, Allison, Gail, Ryan, Erin, Dwayne, Akeem, Jalisa, Camile, Latalya, Keisha (Y) and Latoya predeceased by granddaughter Carlyne (Pet).
Great-grandmother of Sakinah, Shanisha, Krystal, Rickayla, Ricardo, Kamron, Kyra, Demetrius Darius Damaris, Shawayne, Chavez, Rinako, Corryn, Chloe, Shawayne (B), Amari and Angelique.

A service of thanksgiving will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at St. George Parish Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 3:00 p.m. followed by the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The body of the late Doris Brathwaite will repose at Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
