ALLEYNE – CYNTHIA DOLORES, aged 91, affectionately known as “Chickie” in Jamaica, late of 108 Castle Heights, St. Philip, entered into rest on February 23, 2026.
Wife of the late Vincent Elliot Alleyne.
Mother of Alton Alleyne (England) and Derrick Thompson (Jamaica). Grandmother of Althea (Nspyre Beauty Salon), Anthony, Raymond, Dennis Thompson and five others. Great-grandmother of Daniel Harvey (Good Intent, St. George), Akilah, Zada Thompson and 22 others. Great great-grandmother of one. Aunt of Glen Dennis (first Black Major of Reading, England) and many others. Relative of the Dennis and Thompson families in England, Jamaica, and the USA. Friends in England: Marge and Gordon Blackwood, Milton and Marguritte Trotman, Carmen Jordan and Maizie Morrison (Canada). Friends in Barbados: Victor Lee, Reginald Parrish, the Ward family of Ruby Plantation, St. Philip, the Shorey family of St. Catherine’s, St. Philip, Keith Hurdle, Pat Haynes, Madge, and members of the Shrewsbury Methodist congregation, St. Philip. A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Monday March 16, 2026 at Shrewsbury Methodist Church, Well House, St. Philip, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to the Chapel Lawns of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
