I was so shocked to hear that my friend Michael of over 30 years had passed away. We first met when he was a teacher at John Dewey H.S. in Brooklyn, NY. It was unfortunate that I only recently learned of his passing via my mother and didn't have a chance to attend his service. Michael was an incredible artist, teacher and an overall good person. It's such a shame that we often don't know the value of life and friendship until it's too late, as we stopped speaking for many years until a John Dewey reunion about 7+ years ago. We exchanged numbers but only kept in sporadic contact. Upon his retirement, I was invited to visit his home in Barbados and intended to visit but just didn't get around to it. Now, as with Michael, the time has passed. Michael would want everyone to know to cherish what you have while you have it. Love and condolences to the family of and to my friend, John Michael Goring!!!

Condolences go out to Michael's family and friends. Although we have not been in touch for a long time. I always remember a kind and gentle soul full of love. The world has lost an angel and the heavens have gained one

I am sitting in Bangkok and have learned of your passing mere minutes ago. I cannot help but see in my mind's eye the image of you, spinning like a top in the Barbados Dance Theatre studio, white button shirt open and floating behind you. Your passion and beauty as a dancer was inspiring; and though I have long (LONG) left that world of dance, you remain an indelible and positive influence in my life. May you rest in Peace. Sincere condolences also to your family...I am so sorry I could not be there for your final farewell but know that you are ever in my thoughts and prayers. Au revoir...

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Michael. May his sweet soul rest on in eternal heavenly peace. I've had the pleasure of knowing Michael since our teenage years in Barbados and even though we did not see each other often we tried to stay in touch through the years. I will treasure the memory of our last conversation just this past December 2016. I will always cherish your kind heart, your million dollar smile and your warm friendship. Love always from my family in Silver Spring, Maryland and the rest of the Hall family of Brooklyn, New York.

I was saddened when I heard of Michael's recent passing. He was one of my Division 4 & 3 track and field competitors while at Boys' Foundation School; before I left for England. I remember competing with him in the 100, 220 and 440 races and Long jump at Foundation and 100 and 4 X 100 junior team relay at Kensington Oval. Although we never saw each other since my Boys' Foundation School days I always inquired about him. Wished we had the chance to reminisce... My condolences to his family and friends. Rest in eternal peace.

Mr. Goring- you will be missed. I met Mr. Goring in 1992 as a student at John Dewey High in Brooklyn, New York. I had the pleasure of taking his dance classes during my junior and senior year. He was extremely strict, but it was one of the best classes. May he R.I.P.

Micheal was a very wonderful, loving, and kind person. He taught many young people the art of dance and creativity. He will always be remembered by many friends and family in Barbados and the United States of America where he lived and taught for most of his life encouraging his students to pursue their dreams and ambitions.
God Bless his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences to the family. Though this is a difficult time for you all, it is comforting to know that God is eager to bring back to life those who have died (Job 14:14,15). During this time, you can pray to God without letup for comfort. He will according to Psalms 34:18, bind up the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.
