Joyce Weekes

WEEKES – JOYCE MELVELLINE, aged 79 of New York, USA and formerly of Six Cross Road, St. Philip entered into rest on March 27, 2020 at New York Congregational Nursing Home. Joyce was a devout member of St. Augustine Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, New York and the Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
Daughter of the late Helena Weekes and Allan Fields. Mother of Hislaryn Weekes-Brathwaite, Petrona Straughn, Ralph Weekes and Cynthia Weekes-Bryce. Grandmother of Michelle and Lisa Weekes, Kevin Brathwaite, Danica Headlam, Brian Franklyn, Rayshawn and Rashad Weekes and Nickolas, Christopher and Daniel Bryce. Great grandmother of Nateyasha, Taniyah and Brianna Franklyn and KaMari Brathwaite. Sister of Steadman and Verna Weekes, Joseph Brathwaite, Winston Coppin, Christine Fields and the late Rawle, Colbert, Livingston, Barclay and Pearl Weekes and Thelma Weekes-Agard. Mother-in-law of Hainsley Straughn, Ralston Bryce and Colleen Weekes. Aunt to many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Cousin of Carnetta Weir. Tons of friends, including Phyllis King, Cynthia Barrow, Audrey Haynes-Gooding, Kelin Harewood, R. Steven and Avril LeGall and many others, the late Gwendolyn Weekes, Savinia Clinton, Ursilla Gittens and Carlton Wiltshire.
The funeral leaves Lyndhurst Funeral Home, Passage Road, St. Michael on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 for the Church of The Holy Trinity, Ruby, St. Philip where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 3:00 p.m. for the service and interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 12:00 noon on Tuesday. Please be aware that all COVID restrictions will be observed.
