PROVERBS – CARMETTA, also known as ‘Carnetta’, aged 67, of 11 Drax Hall Hope, St. George, entered peacefully into rest on March 18, 2023. Retired Nurse Aide. Daughter of Emmerton and Gertrude Brathwaite. Devoted wife of Carl Proverbs. Mother of Linda and Andria Catlyn, Astrid and Dwight Proverbs. Grandmother of Mariah, Destinee, Tashawna, Junior, Justin and Joshua Catlyn, Serenity Proverbs and Amiya Prescod. Great-grandmother of Rha’niyah and Kalea Catlyn. Sister of David, Glyne, Horace, Curtis and Lloyd Catlyn, Marcia Dyal, Judy Dash (deceased) and Eleanor Bonas. Aunt and Great-aunt of many. Relative of the Brathwaite, Catlyn and Griffith families of Drax Hall, St. George and the Evelyn family of Waverley Cot, St. George. Special friend of Marjorie Gazette, Philomene “Girlie” Griffith (deceased) and the Truth for the Final Generation Adventist congregation. A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Truth For The Final Generation Adventist Church, Bailey’s Hill, Redman’s Village, St. Thomas, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 a.m. The cortege will then proceed to St. Luke Anglican Church for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 7:30 a.m. on Friday. No mourning colours by special request, however, you may wear green in Carmeta’s honour.
