HUGH GORDON WOOD, age 79, of Layne’s Road, Brittons Hill, St. Michael, entered into rest on April 30, 2025. Retired Deputy Comptroller of the Barbados Customs and Excise Department.
Husband of Angela Wood.
Father of Lisa Eversley.
Brother of Esther Brathwaite, Isalene Thornhill and Dr. Cecil Wood.
Uncle of Dr. Joanne Brathwaite-Drummond, Colin Brathwaite Jr., Kelia, Kacia and Alex Belgrave, Dr. Cecil Wood III, Dr. Arthur Wood, Tracy, Zoanna, Faith, Stephen, Heather, Jason and Christopher Riley and several others.
Brother-in-law of June, Allison, Gordon, Roger and Cecilia Belgrave, Neville Yearwood, Colin Brathwaite Sr., Everton Batson, Beryl Davis, Anne Hinds, Nita Grazette, Marcia Griffith, Patricia Redmond, Mildred Morris and Christine Menard.

A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Church of the Nazarene, Collymore Rock, St. Michael where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 1:30 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The body of the late Hugh Wood will repose in the Colin Parkinson Memorial Chapel, Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
