George Scantlebury

SCANTLEBURY – GEORGE LIVINGSTONE, better known as ‘Georgie Porgie,’ age 70, of 4th Avenue New Orleans, St. Michael, entered into rest on April 7, 2025. He was a member of the House of Soca. Son of the late Una Scantlebury and Noel Elder. Brother of Maureen Barns, Vilma and Malcom Scantlebury, Gordon Elder, Patrick Griffith, Vere Worrell and Andrew Bostic of the U.S.A and the late Charles, Bruce and Marva Scantlebury, and Gloria Jones. Uncle of Samantha, Raphaël, Adrian and Bradley Jones, Nicholas, Nicolette and Cassandra Scantlebury, Terry Jordon, Justin Worrell and Anthony Redman, Joycelyn, Fernando, and Charmaine Ward of the U.S.A. A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at King Street Seventh-Day Adventist Church where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to St. Leonard’s Anglican Churchyard for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.

My Deepest Condolences to the Family and the New Orleans community, Georgie was a very funny guy, I remember growing up in the Orleans, he had some challenges but was loved…May he RIP….
