GLADYS FLORETHA FORDE née GILL better known as “Fordie”, aged 86, of 25 Lammings Close, St. Joseph and formerly of 7 Manship Road, Mitcham, Surrey, London, England entered peacefully into eternal rest on June 8, 2025. Devoted member of the Airy Hill Gospel Hall, St Joseph.
Beloved daughter of the late Aldon Babb and Elma Gill.
Loving wife of the late Aldolf Rudolf Forde (Poree).
Beloved mother of Geoffrey, Ronald and Michael Forde.
Cherished grandmother of Kieran and Thomas.
Dear sister of Verona Gill (USA), the late Dennis Gill (UK), Ruby Devonish, Hazel and Winston Gill (both from Barbados).
Affectionate aunt of Margaret Russell, Stanley, Maureen, Deborah and Sonia Gill, Orlaine Devonish, Deborah Carrington and Maureen King (both of the USA).
Caring great-aunt of the Hon. Dale Marshall (Attorney General of Barbados), Shantel Gill, Rasheeda Russell (UK), Shanelle Gill, Jamario Devonish, Theo Jordan, Dawn Marie, Ingrid and Wayne Gill (both of the USA), Damian Devonish (Canada) and many more.

A service of celebration will be held on, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Airy Hill Gospel Hall where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 1:00 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to St. Ann’s Church for another service at 2:30 p.m. followed by the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The body of the late Gladys Forde will repose at Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
