Bernie Wiggins
BERNIE ANTONIO WIGGINS was born on September 9, 1976 in Bridgetown, Barbados to Yolanda Wiggins and the late Trevor Wiggins, Bernie migrated to the United States at 4 years old to join his mother and brother Ackroy, where he resided in Queens, New York majority of his life and formerly of Grants Avenue, Bayville.
He started his education in Barbados, attending Lady of the Lords and Bay Primary. He later attended John Marshall I.S. 210 and Westbury High School.
Bernie later explored his interests in automobile repair and attended automotive training school where he received his certificate. Bernie loved cooking; he often expressed this with his infamous recipes. He eventually opened his own company Bee International Kitchen L.L.C. He catered many events, and was known for his special Hennessy wings and lobster mac and cheese just to name a few.
He was a devoted father, son and friend. Those who knew Bernie enjoyed his company. He lit up any room he walked into. He was a comedian in his own right, making many laugh and smile. Bernie will be sadly missed.
Son of Yolanda Wiggins and the late Trevor Wiggins. Father of Sharia, Shamee and Bernisia Wiggins. Grandfather of Shamir Wiggins. Brother of Ackroy Lashley, Leslie Wiggins and the late Geoffrey Wiggins. Uncle of Deja and Nisa Lashley, Kyle, Tariqh and Trey Wiggins and Ackroy Lashley Jr. Nephew of Maxine, Wendy and Ormiston Lashley. Special friend of Veronica Pierre. Godfather of Najwa Pierre. He also leaves to mourn many family and friends in the United States and Barbados.
A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Westbury Chapel, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 a.m. followed by the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
