EDNA CLARISTINA MAPP, NรE GIBBONS, of Kingโs Court Retreat, Newton, Christ Church, formerly of Cave Hill, St. Michael, passed on July 5, 2023 at the age of 92. Retired Departmental Aide, Central Sterilization Department, Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Past member of St. Mary Anglican Church Mothersโ Union, several fraternal organizations, the St. John Ambulance Brigade, and the Barbados National Association of Washington, DC.
Former wife of the late Horace Mapp.
Mother of Trevor, Antonio and Michael Mapp and Shirley Grandison.
Daughter of the late Reginald Grant.
Mother-in-law of Juliet Mapp, Norma Mapp and the late Shirley Mapp.
Grandmother of Oluyomi, Jamal, Shonelle, Adanna, Kwame, Chiwale, Cazembe, Talia, Kibwe, Beyonce and Nezra.
Cousin of Elsie and Velda Williams.
Great-grandmother of Hailey, Cristian, Owia, Chatoyer, Jaydn, Elijah, Jordan, Maleek, Zachary, Daโmayah, Nyiโlah, Kamani, Zaire, and Cazari.
Friend of the Barbados Association of Baltimore.
Thanks to Dr. Cathy-Ann Cave-Henry, Dr. Nadya Clarke, and Sister Veronica Webster who cared for her during the last several months.
A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at St. Mary Anglican Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 a.m. for the service. The cortege will then proceed to the Westbury Cemetery for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The body of the late Edna Claristina Mapp will repose in the Colin Parkinson Memorial Chapel, Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 4:00 โ 6:00 p.m.
