CARTER NEE ALLEYNE – ERMA, of King’s Village, Holders Hill, St. James, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 30, 2025.
Widow of Orville Carter, Beloved mother of Orville Alleyne and David Alleyne. Grandmother of Faith Bascombe, Kiara Alleyne, and Corey Williams. Great-grandmother of Joshua Bascombe and Kaliah Alleyne. Sister of Victoria Alleyne (of the USA), the late Louise Gibbs, Charles Skinner, Arnold Skinner, Genetha Johnson-Worrell, Mavis Walters, and Philippa Alleyne. Cherished aunt of Sheila, Charlie, Velma, Erskine, Arnold, Everton, and Leroy Alleyne, An-nie, Cyrielle, Shelley and Trevor Alleyne (of the USA), Gloria, Harry, Carmen, Miriam, Marrion Johnson, and the late Agnes Gibbs. Great-aunt of Sandra, Carol-Ann, Ingrid, Juliet, and Claudette Gibbs and many others. Loving stepmother of Colleen Allder and Anderson St. Hill. Step-grandmother of Marjeanne and Dwight Allder and Paul Alleyne. Sister-in-law of Avrille Nicholls (of the USA). Dear friend of Franklin Allder, the St. John the Baptist Church family, Granville and Miss Arthur from Queens Fort House, Gaynelle Smith, Lynn Belgrave and Merlene Bowen from NAB. She will be deeply missed by the Alleyne, Skinner, Scott, and Gibbs families.
A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Church, St. James where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:30 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
