Daughter of the late Edna Browne and Joseph Cumberbatch.
Widow of Rupert Forde.
Mother of Patricia (retired employee, BADMC), Michael (Forde’s Freighting and Rental Services), David (Station Sargeant (ag), The Barbados Police Service), Waveney (Rayside Construction), Shonda (Cidel Bank) and Kathy-Anne Forde (Bermuda), Moreen Bowen (Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Third Sector) and Shelley Atherley.
Grandmother of Damien and Shellana Atherley, Davida Warner, Lisa Prescott, Nadia Lowe, Rhea Ramsey, Khadija Forde and Natalea Chandler.
Great-grandmother of three.
Mother-in-law of Bernard Atherley and Kay Forde.
Sister of Clevis and Joshua Murray, Norma, Imelda, Jefferson, Jewel and Ottalene Cumberbatch, Franceil Bishop and Sylvia Hewitt.
Cousin of Claudia Straker.
Aunt of many.
Friend of Ms. Farnum, Mrs. Blenman, Sandra Smith (USA), Members of the Church of the Resurrection, Claudette Moore (Caretaker) and many others.
Relative of Murray, Cumberbatch, Corbin and Scantlebury families.
A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Jackmans, St. Michael, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 1:30 p.m. for the service. The cortege will then proceed to Westbury Cemetry for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. The body of the late Gwenith Elaine Forde will repose in the Colin Parkinson Memorial Chapel, Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00p.m. Kindly note that all COVID-19 protocols will be in effect.
