I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Decaires family on the passing of Ian. I would also like to give thanks for his life. Many years ago I worked at Life of Barbados and watched as the founder Cecil made significant donations to every special needs organization in Barbados. He did this to help other people like Ian and it was a tremendous boost to the disabled community. At that time , I was responsible for coordinating these donations. Years later, I too became a parent of a special needs child and because of my previous exposure, I was able to cope with this great responsibility. So please understand that Ian , even though I never met him was a gift to so many. May He Rest in Peace.
