Malia Ali

Malia Ali, born on 16 December, 1978, peacefully departed this life on 13 August, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. A devoted daughter, loving sister, and loyal friend, Malia was known for her deep love of the ocean and her belief that she was a mermaid at heart.

Malia was the beloved daughter of the late Kazim “Bunny” Ali and Peggy Farah, and stepdaughter of Ilia Farah. She was the proud granddaughter of the late Zaid and Shyroon Ali of The Globe Drive Inn, as well as the late Norma Hinkson, Gordon Croney and Highland Hinkson. The Ali family, uncles, aunts and cousins. The Croney family, uncles, aunts and cousins. Her nonbiological siblings, Shauna, Reynette, Rachel, Michelle, Nadja, Clint, and Craig, will forever cherish her memory. Malia also leaves behind a close-knit circle of friends, including Philip, Bud and Manoj, as well as countless others whose lives she touched.

An ardent animal lover, Malia was the devoted “mother” to her three dogs, Suki, Nacho, and Mooki. She was known for her compassionate heart, often caring for every stray animal that crossed her path.

Malia has left this world to swim in the eternal ocean, where her spirit will forever be at peace. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle soul, and her ability to find beauty and joy in even the simplest moments.

Malia said if you wear funeral colours or mourning attire you cannot attend. Aunty Peggy said to dress like we are going to a party but not in Maliaโ€™s length of skirt.

Her wishes are no flowers, but she would love if you would donate to Ocean Acres which will be done at Coral Ridge. The family requests privacy after the service.

Dear Peggy, I cannot imagine the pain and sorrow. Your beautiful daughter is all every young lady wanted to be. I'm gutted for you. My deepest condolences to you, her immediate family, her family on both sides Ali, Hinkson as well as Farrah family. Your little mermaid will hold Bunny's hand and swim in an ocean of love forever. We, the Hinkson-Youngs (Aunty Pal) will never forget her. We are praying for you - Michelle (late Reginald) Young, Yvonne St. John, Judy Young (the late Aunt May's children) and my daughter Alex all send love and prayers from London and Luxembourg. Condolences to Gordon, Ricky, Derick, Tai, Christine, Katrina and all her uncle's and cousins. We're here for you Pegs. May Malia rest in eternal piece and rise in Glory.๐ŸŒบ

It is with incredible sadness that I write this. I am heartbroken by the sudden loss of my dear friend. We shared so much in such a short time of knowing one anotherโ€”our love for delicious and healthy food, our compassion for animals, and an understanding of each otherโ€™s quirks and humor that made our friendship so special. I will miss our conversations, the laughter we shared, and the unspoken bond that connected us in so many ways. I will also miss the sound of her sweet voice as she sent me (sometimes) hilarious voice notes of stuff that can now only bring tears to my eyes.

Malia, your presence brought warmth and light into my life, and I am forever grateful for the memories we created together. Rest well, my friend. You will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I was very blessed to have worked with Malia for a few years while she was senior AE at Katalyst. She was always passionate and committed to her work. She would sometimes gently complain but still go above and beyond the call of duty to get the assignment done! My deep sadness at her passing is overshadowed by my happiness to see her still giving 'instructions' and to know she was surrounded by friends and family at the end. A very kind soul, a truth-teller, sincere animal lover and a friend to many. My condolences to the family and her many friends. May she Rest In Peace.
