Marlene Evelyn

MARLENE ANNE EVELYN, aged 85, of “Burnley”, Brittons Hill, St. Michael entered into rest on March 15, 2024, to rest forever in God’s loving embrace. Marlene joined The Family Welfare Society in 1990 and acted as treasurer from 1990 until 2016. She was an active member of the St. Matthias Church where she taught Sunday School for over 10 years.
Marlene was the daughter of the late John and Margo Fernandes and was married to Peter Evelyn.
She is the beloved mother of James Evelyn (Ockola Shepherd), Susannah Evelyn (Brett Massiah) and Randall Evelyn.
Cherished grandmother of Danyal, Aalia, Bianca, John and Jase.
She is survived by her siblings Frank Fernandes (Esther), Adele Gill (Terrence), Margaret
Fernandes, Raymond Fernandes (Jackie), Anne Marie Griffiths, Andre Fernandes, Gerry
Fernandes (Alison) and Paula Fernandes. Predeceased by her brothers Gabriel Fernandes
(Noreen) and Stephen Fernandes (Maria) Marlene will be fondly remembered by her many
nieces and nephews and by her many faithful friends.
A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at St. Matthias Anglican Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens for the interment. In lieu of flowers donations to The Family Welfare Society will be graciously accepted in Marlene Evelyn’s honour. No mourning colours by special request.
