Dear Smith Family,

I was heartbroken to hear of the passing of Dr. Maurice Smith. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.

Maurice was more than a colleagueโ€”he was a steady presence, a voice of wisdom, and someone I deeply respected. His professionalism was matched only by his kindness, and I will always remember the calm, thoughtful way he approached both his work and the people around him. He made a lasting impact not just in his field, but in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family. Mauriceโ€™s legacy will live on in the lives he touchedโ€”mine included.

With sympathy and respect,
Dr. Harold Harvey

Heartfelt condolences to Mrs Smith and family. Dr Smith was a special person who gave freely of his knowledge, his time and care for humankind. I remember July 1981 when I met him for the first time, and he made arrangements for my impending surgery, thorough, thoughtful and deeply concerned. More recently I benefitted from his wisdom, wit and willingness to share.
I pray that over time your memories of his rich life will bring you comfort , and that the knowledge that many share your grief will lighten the burden for you all. May his rest be peaceful! ๐Ÿ™

It is with great sadness that we, as a family express our deepest condolences on the passing of our dear friend, Maurice. We extend our deepest sympathy to Grace and the entire family.
As a young student, Maurice โ€“ Sarkese - as he was called by his school mates in Grenada ( a name which he automatically acquired because that was the nickname given to his father), had an outstanding record as a sportsman and athlete. He was Captain of the Grenada Boys Secondary Schoolโ€™s cricket team where he exercised strong leadership, kindness and patience in his quiet way. He was so talented that he suddenly became a formidable fast bowler in his last year at school. That was remarkable as he was never known to be a bowler until he tried it then. He made many friends through his prowess as a cricketer and was well liked by all his teammates in the sporting disciplines. He also represented his school ( the GBSS) in football as well.
The qualities of leadership and caring for friends, family and community, stayed with him as he studied, then launched and established his life-long practice as a medical doctor specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Today, even as we mourn his passing we have every reason to celebrate his life, his invaluable contribution to the world in which he lived, the quiet encouragement and support he gave to everyone who needed it.
Dr. Maurice Smith was our lifelong friend from the Grenada leg of his journey. We will miss him and remember him with extreme fondness. He will always be in our hearts.
The McGuire Family.
