My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time... Sonia and I met at UWI and our friendship continued into the world of work. I will never forget her smile, her laughter after hearing a joke but most of all was her willingness to always help.

I know today we may be sad but never forget that we have the hope of seeing her again. Itโ€™s the promise and hope that our Heavenly Father gives us at Act 24:15 which says ยดAnd I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrectionโ€ฆ.โ€™

To Dale and family who are today mourning Sonia I encourage you to rejoice in the hope! ( Romans 12:12)

I was indeed very shocked to read about the passing of Sonia at such a relatively young age.
Sonia was one of my economics students when she did her BSc (Economics) degree at the UWI. I remember her as a very hardworking, determined and focused student with a very pleasant smile and personality. I followed her progression as an economist in the Government of Barbados to the highest level of Permanent Secretary. Our last interaction was a consultancy on the Blue Economy for Barbados. She was her usual pleasant and efficient self. As she moves onto her new life, her family should be comforted that she has made a valuable contribution to economic policy making and management in Barbados. I wish to offer deepest condolences to her family, relatives and close friends some of whom I know well. Bon voyage dear Sonia.
