SYLVIA ANITA REECE also known as Gran, aged 97, of Brewster’s Road, Barbarees Hill, St. Michael, entered peacefully into rest on March 5, 2026. Proprietress of Standard Bakery of Tudor Street and Black Rock, St. Michael.
Wife of the late Douglas MacDonald Reece.
Daughter of the late Christopher and Olga Marshall.
Mother of Maureen (Barclays), Betty, Cheryl and Beverley Reece (USA) and the late Shirley Reece-Hinds, Junior and Ricardo Reece.
Sister of Joyce and Rudolph Grandison (USA) and the late Enid Henry, Beatrice Gibson and David Grandison.
Grandmother of Ashlinn Alleyne (USA).
Aunt of Dorothy Bryan, Tony, Ronald and George Grandison, Eirell Franklin and many others.
Mother-in-law of Philbert Alleyne.
Relative of the Grandison, Marshall, Blanche, Gibson and Clinton families.
Friend of Mary Best, Gloria and Yvonne Corbin, Gemiel Hinkson, the Arthur, Inniss, Hinkson and Greaves families of St. Lucy, the Millers of Brighton and the Sawhs of Westbury Road.

A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the James Street Methodist Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to Westbury Cemetery for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The body of the late Sylvia Reece will repose in the Colin Parkinson Memorial Chapel, Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
