THELSTON RODNEY OโNEAL PAYNE, also known as โCarewโ, aged 66, of Foul Bay, St. Philip, entered into rest on May 10, 2023. Former Coach of The National Sports Council and well renowned cricketer for St. Catherine, Barbados and the West Indies. Proud member of the Cricket Legends of Barbados.
Son of the late Joseph and Beryl Payne.
Father of Damien Payne and Dwayne Atkinson.
Grandfather of Zyon Payne.
Beloved brother of Jacqueline, Valerie, Addington and Barry Payne, Stephanie King and the late Agnell Harrison.
Devotedย Companion of Pauline Atkinson.
Uncle of Angela, Cathy-Ann, Paula, Jerome, Dwayne, Dario, Ashley, Stefon, Shanae, Tyrell, Tyreek, Addysha and Jabarry.

A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 a.m. The cortege will then proceed to the Legends Lawns of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. The body of the late Thelston โCarewโ Payne will repose in the Cricket Legends of Barbados on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 4:00 โ 6:00 p.m. and in the St. Catherine Social and Sports Club on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 4:00 โ 6:00 p.m. Mourning colours are optional by special request.
