Dear Patricia and Family

My deepest condolences – I first encountered Trevor when I joined the ‘family’ of the Lodge School

In 1960 and remember well, as a small boy, seeing this larger than life figure of a man virtually take up the entire doorway as he entered our classroom for my first class. I noticed the size of his hands and forearms, but I needn’t have worried as his face broke into a huge disarming grin which beamed “I am your friend” as he welcomed us to the School and introduced himself.

I of course got to know Trevor first as a teacher, and then as a friend and fellow cricketer who I had the privilege of playing against when he played for YMPC and I, first for Lodge and then Wanderers

Trevor did everything with enthusiasm but always with a deep respect for the game of cricket, his fellow man and indeed life itself. I will always cherish my memories of him but particularly my first encounter with him as a small anxious schoolboy who he made feel at ease

May he Rest in Peace and rise in Glory

An appreciative

Stephen
