Darling Wends.
Thank you for the laughter, the fun in the water and the company over many years.
Go with the tide, ride on the wind and save a space for me at the table.
With fond regards. Ran.

Dear Auntie Wens,

We were so glad we were able to introduce Jack, Jesse and Anna to you and make memories with you here in Barbados which will live on in our hearts. Thank you for remembering every birthday, celebrating occasions and taking interest in the details of our lives, despite the miles and throughout my nearly 40 years. You were always so generous. I will always remember fun times with you, especially from my childhood - watching telly in your bed, playing with your bangles and reciting silly poems together. You loved gardens, animals and vibrant colours ('no beige!') and were always the life and soul of any party. We will miss you.

'My flesh and heart may fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.' Psalm 73:26

Much love, Em Pem, Christoph, Jack, Jesse and Anna xxxxx

Wendy was firstly my secretary for many years, an excellent 'old school' one at that; she took dictation in shorthand. Her knowledge of grammar was second to none. Secondly, she was a friend, an entertaining oracle too. She had a fascinating background having grown up in Barbados, worked here and in the UK, dabbling in the Middle East, Europe and the USA ,for amongst others the Times Newspaper's premier foreign correspondent at the time. She was an excellent organizer for my overseas expeditions in hurricane ravaged countries of the Caribbean where we would be on assignment handling claims for United and The Beacon. She had great knowledge of people, places, etiquette and practical stuff. Whenever I tie my shoelaces, I remember when she corrected me once as to the proper way so the bow would sit neatly.

Farewell Dearest Wens, until we meet again. We go back to babyhood with our relationship where we would fight each other! I am sure our Nannies encouraged us, until Aunty Betty and Mummy bit each of us and put a stop to that! Your years at Queens before going to England and our visits and stays with each other...so much history, but you are now in the loving arms of your Eternal Father. May you rest eternal and rise in glory. xo

With our deepest sympathy from all the Wilsons in the UK. Wonderful memories of our last trip to Barbados where we all met up with Wendy at the farmers market. A great day, fondly remembered. Vaya con Díos.
