FR. LEONARD ALFONSO, also known as “Junior”, aged 88, of the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral, Jemmott’s Lane, St. Michael and 35 Marine Square, Lower Westbury Road, St. Michael. A former Teacher at St. Mary’s College, St. Lucia and Queen’s College, Barbados. He was ordained as a priest April 4, 1986 and served for 40 years. Son of the late Leonard Alfonso and Ethel Soverall. Brother of Carl Alfonso, Hermina Mary Fyle Gilzeane, Herman, Herbert and Lennox Soverall. Adopted family of Bibi, Bertie, Sirhigh, Isaiah and Joshua Philip. Family friend of Kip Thompson. In Loving Memory of Enid Eugenia Austin 1934 – 2026 Enid Eugenia Austin, affectionately known and loved by many as Jean, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the age of 91. A retired Registered Psychiatric Geriatric Nurse and Cosmetologist, Enid devoted her professional life to the compassionate care of the elderly living with mental illness. Nursing was more than her profession—it was her calling. Through decades of dedicated service, she offered comfort, dignity, and kindness to countless patients and their families, leaving an enduring legacy of compassion and excellence. In her retirement years she volunteered as the secretary for the Alzheimers Association and volunteered as a nurse at a local clinic, and for wellness events through James Street Methodist Church. She also loved doing hair and became very creative in her craft. Born to the late Iris and Lawrence M. Bailey, as the 2nd child of 5, Enid was the cherished granddaughter of the late William H. Yearwood and Augusta Yearwood, and David Adolphus Bayley and Agatha Janette Franklin- Bayley.
