The funeral leaves Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, for St. James Parish Church, where family and friends are asked to meet at 3:00 p.m. for a service of thanksgiving followed by the inurnment in the Wall of Remembrance in the churchyard.

I trained as a nurse with Sue at The Royal Masonic Hospital in London and shared a house with her for several years during our time there.
Sue was funny, warm-hearted and just the most lovely person.
We met up again in London before last Christmas and had the most wonderful afternoon together over a long lunch reminiscing about our student days together.
I treasure the memory of that day and send my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends x

Thinking of you all family and friends at this sad time. When someone you love dies, you never get quite over it, you slowly learn how to go on without them, but always keeping them tucked safely in your heart. Sue walked life's path in Truth with Integrity & Honour.
She was that rare human being who left an instant impression on one as she was a powerful Soul, yet, conducted herself with humility. She loved life and my how we will miss her 'Curry Evenings' and cosy dinners
at Westbank. I will be thinking of you her family as you say your painful farewell. I feel privileged to have known her.

Stephen, Robert, Charles,
My deepest sorrow and condolence at the loss of your wonderful sister and our dear friend Susan. We go brazenly out into the world and take for granted our best and oldest friends. Then suddenly it is too late to speak again, or even say goodbye.
Some things we never forget. I remember the long conversations we shared on the beach at Phalmouth, with our heads propped on our elbows, and at the Hut where Colin and Audrey stayed.
I remember her smile as she spoke, so natural, so confident, so endearing, so like the sunshine.
But suddenly now we are without her, and it is to our loss. But despite our grief, she has gone to God, and she awaits us there.
She is with us still in our hearts, and we are the greater for her gifts of courage, compassion, and inspiration.
We must be comforted, those you love don't go away, they walk beside you every day.

A wonderful friend who always managed to make us smile. We feel fortunate to have shared her company and will greatly miss her., especially on our visits to Accra Beach! A warm loving person that was such a fun person to share a laugh with! I will truly miss her.

Sue's untimely departure from this world has left us all the poorer. She was a talented, witty and dignified friend with an enormous sense of fun; a rare, one off. Susan trained with 30 others in set 74/2 at The Royal Masonic Hospital London as State Registered Nurses. An amazing training. All of us, first time away from home and family.We all bonded immediately and what a time we had. Following training, we all eventually left the hospital for other fields. Some managed to keep in touch. Many did not. Last year in April we had a reunion in London of 20 of us. Was just 40 years apart. Sue was there. No one stopped talking and the memories we shared. We are meeting at Westminster Abbey in London in May this year at a tribute to Florence Nightingale. Susan was coming. Her nurse colleagues and friends of 1974 will hold a personal tribute and sip a toast to dear Sue who we all miss but smile at her lovely memory.

I will treasure Sue's antics, jokes, and mimicry of school days, but most of all our mini class reunion weekend in Wales for our 60th birthdays. 'Fiat Lux' a bright light snuffed out far too soon.
