I met him previously but got to know a little of his spiritual worth on virtual platform (thanks to Covid). He was undoubtedly operating from the Spirit's springboard. Taught with clarity, deliberate and confident with words measured but loaded with Divine thoughts on the topic under consideration. Truly a vessel that was sanctified and serviceable for the Master's use. The effect of his teaching will redound to the glory of God for many years to come. My time with brother Dave was short but it's an unbreakable spiritual link in Christ Jesus. May all who came under his influence be encouraged to fight the good fight of faith. Be consoled.

Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of an absolute gentleman, consummate teacher and God-fearing and inspirational person. Mr. Rice was one of a variety of excellent teachers that made being a student of St. Stephen's Juniors (as it then was) a joy and privilege. As many of his students fondly do, I remember his mannerly and firm disposition, kindness to all students and superlative class control. I clearly recall his expert teaching of the Barbados sugar industry delivered so comprehensively that I still recall even specific details. Shortly after his retirement, I was blessed to encounter him and voice my appreciation for his profound influence. He is of the high quality of teacher that St. Stephen's school offered to Barbados which has been unsurpassed. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
