My wife Jan & I first met Ben in the 1970s in England when he joined the Staines & Laleham Cricket Club which I captained at that time. It was the start of a long & happy friendship for us.
He later moved to Barbados which by happy coincidence was a favourite holiday destination of ours. This enabled us to meet up with him when he was back in England on business & in Barbados when we were on vacation.
Ben was a kind & happy person, always interesting to talk to & we looked forward to meeting up with him. In the latter years in Barbados, we would dine with Ben reminiscing sometimes about cricket & golf at Royal Westmoreland.
We proudly remember Ben as a dear friend who will be truly missed by us. We send our deepest condolences to his family.

I worked with Ben in the international business sector since first joining Lex Caribbean in 2003. Ben touched so many peopleโ€™s lives, positively. He was always so prodigiously busy and productive that he could truly be said to be a man who was all things to all people.

โ€ฆThe Ben that I knew was profoundly insightful, knowledgeable, hardworking, steady, approachable diplomatic, patient, humorous, gentle, and generous.

What Ben has left behind, through his contribution to country, and to all of us as people close to him, is an immeasurably valuable and beautiful legacy.

I, together with my colleagues at Lex Caribbean, will remember him always, with ineffable respect, appreciation, and affection.

May he rest in peace and be forever honoured in our good memories and the ways in which we follow his example.

Ben was an amazing gentleman who genuinely cared about people and was very generous with his time and tax expertise. Ben convinced me to remain in Jamaica to practice tax for 20 years even though I was adamant, when I first met him in 2002, that I could only do a 3-year transfer from Toronto. He had an unsurpassed knowledge of tax treaty law and was a legend in the Caribbean tax world. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to Benโ€™s wife Shelley and to all his family members and colleagues. The loss of Ben is felt by many people all over the world but our memories of him will last forever. May his Soul Rest in Peace.
