Sorry to hear about the passing of Bertie Callender. He was a great friend of my father Dennis A . Ames.
He inspired me to continue to higher education among other values.
I shall forever be grateful for the examples that he has set throughout his lifetime.
Bertie Callender was a great human being.

I would to express my deepest condolences to Jean and family on the passing of Bertie. He was a great teacher of mathematics especially advanced calculus and complex variables which he taught me during my undergraduate years at the Cave Hill Campus of the UWI. He was a very patient and dedicated teacher.
As a colleague, he was someone who would render good advice on the workings of the university. Both he and Jean were very supportive and helpful during my tenure as President of WIGUT. Bertie was a great conversationalist with an ample stock of stories. May he continue his good work in his new life.

My condolences to the family of Bertram (Bertie) Callender.

My first opportunity to meet Bertie was when he and his wife, Jean, visited his sister Jean Miller here in Maryland.
Another was on a cruise with his sister Jean celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary. One of my fondest memories of this event. reminding me of the commanding and warm personality Bertie exhibited, was his ability to always find someone (family or stranger) to hold his place at a particular slot machine in the casino whenever he had to leave for various reasons.

With prayer and faith to the family of Bertram Callendar as you continue your journey.
