Please accept my deepest and sincerest condolences.
Dame Symmonds was crucial to my acquisition of linguistic skills and language competence, to my recruitment at the United Nations in Paris and to the character building and moral compass that have enabled me to stay the course in the past forty years.
May Dame Symmonds rest in peace

Sincere condolences to Donna and Peter
We cannot say and we will not say that she is dead- she is just away.
With her tender smile and a wave of the hand
Think of her just the same we say
She is not dead, she is just away.
