DARCY RONALD HUSBANDS, aged 69, known to many as โDarcyโ of Crystal Heights, faithful member of St. Leonard’s Anglican Church, left us peacefully on Sunday August 27, 2023.
Cherished son of the late Elsie Husbands.
Devoted Father of Dwayne Husbands, Andrea Kang, Shayne Alleyne Husbands and Deshawn Husbands.
Loving Grandfather of Elijah, Myah, Madison, Morgan, Emirah and Asahd Husbands, Cairo Kang and Cree Kang.
Beloved Brother of Derek Husbands, late David Husbands, Rose Husbands, Lynette Husbands, Carl Husbands, and Joann Husbands.
Adoring Uncle of Akeem, Omar and Sasha Husbands, Alicia Husbands-Perch, Alex Husbands, Tanya Turner, Tamara Jackman, Cara Husbands, Melissa Cuke, Chyan Hunte, Gabriela Husbands, Christian and Cai Husbands.

For over two decades, Darcy dedicated his life to education in the United States where he retired honorably in 2015. He was more than just a teacher; he was a mentor, a guide, and a source of inspiration to countless students. His commitment to cultivating young minds and instilling a love for learning transcended the classroom, leaving an indelible mark on generations of students who are now successful adults thanks to his unwavering dedication.
Beyond the classroom, Darcy was an active member of the Kiwanis Club in Barbados. His involvement in this organization showcased his passion for community service as well as the desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Darcy spearheaded numerous initiatives, improving the well-being of countless individuals in his community. His impact was felt far and wide, and his compassion was a guiding light for us all.
As a prominent member of the Democratic Labour Party, he was a steadfast advocate for the betterment of our society. His contributions to the party’s goals and principles were invaluable, and his leadership was characterized by integrity and a genuine desire to see positive change in our beloved nation. Darcy will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of humanity. His loss leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire us all.
A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Thursday, September 7 at St. Leornardโs Anglican Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:30 p.m. for the service. The cortege will then proceed to Westbury Cemetery for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday.
