Words cannot describe the legend that we lost on the 11th April 2022. There was nobody like you - when Mum said no that translated to yes. I know youโ€™re back where you want to be in sunny Barbados and donโ€™t worry, I will be watching over Mum
.
Our daily walks to and from primary school and when I got older and you werenโ€™t ready to let me go so you would come and collect my backpack and take it home for me. I was lucky to be one of those children who always had someone watching them in an assembly - even if I had one line youโ€™d be there front row cheering me on. I remember when I told you that nobody wanted to be my friend and you told me that you will always be mine. That has always been the case as no matter how old I got I could always turn to you. Even when you no longer recognised me I knew deep down you had my back when I told you what was going on.

You were so proud to say you worked for Transport for London on the buses and I remember all of our trips to the bus garages or taking the tube just to explore London. You introduced me to the transport industry and made sure I understood not only this is where the Bishopโ€™s UK story began but that I acknowledged the contribution we have made as Caribbean people. I began my transport career with TfL as well and nearly nine years later I am proud to still be part of the industry. Like you would say no matter what version of events society will tell us I am a transport grandchild and nothing will change the part we have played. I proudly share with people why the industry holds such an important place in my heart as I carry the torch for my grandad.
Please wait...
