John Ashby Hinds

JOHN ASHBY HINDS of 1st Avenue Pine Plantation Road, St. Michael, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2019 at 90 years of age. Retired Senior Superintendent of the Royal Barbados Police Force. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to everyone and one who lived a life of distinguished service to his beloved country, Barbados.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Ireatha Hinds and Eric Corbin, his daughter Joycelyn and his brothers Sylvester and Gordon.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Imelda, daughters Jennifer and Joan, grandson Justin (Debralee) all of Toronto, Canada, brother Emerson Hinds (UK) and sister June Hinds.

He will be deeply missed by his family including his many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

A military service honouring and celebrating the life of John Hinds will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 1:30 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their last respects to John Ashby Hinds as he reposes in the Colin Parkinson Memorial Chapel, Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
