Mercille had an outgoing, welcoming personality. I met her years ago when I visited Westmoreland church of the Nazarene. I also hang out with our friend, the late Shirley Yarde and her at flea markets. I knew that I would see her each time I visited the church, but she decided that to be with the Lord was better than here. Mercille, I will miss you but I will see you later.

A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Western Light Church of the Nazarene, Oxnards, St. James, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 1 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens for the interment. No Mourning Colors. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
