My condolences to the family of Ormond ( in Cricket, leg-spinner GUPTE). We grew up as regular neighbourhood boys. I remember him especially for having given me his School Cert. Books- a tremendous help in that Mid- 60’s period - and recall the passion with which he would support the then Garfield Sobers.

I pray that the family will look, with assurance, to God for comfort at this time of their bereavement:
His steadfast love never ceases; His compassion never fails every morning they are renewed.

Parting is hard, but such is life
Like flowers, we blossom, bloom and die
Yet no flower is forgotten because it dies
What is remembered is the fragrance emitted while it lived.

It is with shock that I extend my sincere condolences to the family of Ormond Belle. I introduced myself to Ormond last year at St. Luke Episcopal Church, in the Bronx NY, after learning that he is from Barbados. We talked about cricket and he told of some of his playing days. I told him about the Men's Ministry and the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew and asked whether he would attend one of the meetings but he said that his wife is not well so he could commit to attending the meetings.
