From all at Hitchin CC, please accept our deep and heart felt sympathies at the untimely passing of Pat, known to us as โ€˜Gracieโ€™.

Gracie played for Hitchin CC in the 1980s and early 90s, the fastest, the longest stride and the most wonderful smileโ€ฆa warm, kind and funny man.

He had moved back to Barbados and was integral to our first overseas tour in 1993. We played a number of games, but the highlights were the two games at his home club of St Catherineโ€™s CC.

Pat made sure we saw the real Barbados, meeting his friends and family and organising the tour transport. The โ€˜gully cookโ€™ and cricket on Crane Beach was a highlight as was the boat trip on the Jolly Roger.

Those that returned to Barbados over the coming years were lucky enough to catch up with him and share a Banks or something stronger.

RIP our friend, gone too early and we hope your friends and family are able to celebrate your wonderful life.
Please wait...
