Verity Dawson

Verity Desiree Dawson, loved by many and affectionately known as ‘V’, passed away on 25th August 2016, in Barbados. She was born in Calcutta, India; daughter to Ivy Mary Roberta Clement and Leonard Frederick Dawson. Precious mother of Justine and Jessica Bensley, and David Lyons. Step-mother to JJ Poulter and family. First cousin to Denise and Paul Larkin, Mark and Ann Hannan, Sarah Williams and Chris Xavier, Fiona Clement and second cousin to Jennifer Holman, Andrea and Miles Brooke, Erika and Dean West, Naomi and Connor Williams. She was a friend to many.Verity was a global citizen who lived and worked in India, Bangladesh, Italy, Somalia, Zambia, Canada, St Lucia and the UK before settling in Barbados. Her career spanned pre-school education, the UNDP – World Food Programme, Turning Point metaphysical bookstore and vegetarian café, St. Lucia yacht club, Exclusive cottons of the Caribbean, Feng Shui practitioner, Reiki master teacher, Karuna and Sekhem master. She was a life coach and workshop facilitator for Louise Hay heal your life programmes, a public speaker, holistic counsellor, life skills coach, as well as a director at Skyviews, Caribbean map publishers. She was an active participant in bringing Reiki to local communities, contributed to orphanages in Africa and India, was a volunteer for the Atlantic shores recycling programme and she was a passionate participant of many dance communities.Her memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at the Chapel of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday 13th September 2016. Verity enjoyed colour and sparkle in her life and we welcome you to express yourself similarly at her memorial service.In lieu of flowers, we welcome donations towards Verity’s orphanages in Africa and India through Save the Children fund.
