BLADES – VERNON GEORGE, better known as “Dock” or “Dereck” of Black Rock and formerly of Grants Avenue, Bayville, St. Michael entered into rest on October 27, 2019. Retired Worker of the Bridgetown Port.
Son of the late Ottalene and Darell Blades. Brother of Phyllis Okora, Marie Austin, Vera Charles, Patricia Pearl, Juanita Blades and Diane Dottin. Brother of the late Frederick Codrington. Uncle of Corey and Orlando Blades, Tracy and Ryan Dottin, Sean and Selvin Codrington, Kathy Ann, Phillip, Andrew and Anthony Charles, Edgar Sargeant and Llewellyn Holder. Cousin of Don Foster and Ignatious Codrington. Friend of Sophia Nurse, Michael Carter, Kim, Margaret, Malcolm Stanton, Erick Lucus, Michael Carter and many others.
The funeral leaves Lyndhurst Funeral Home, Passage Road, St. Michael on Friday, November 15, 2019, for St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Bay Street, St. Michael where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00 pm for the service. The cortège will then proceed to Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home no later than 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The body of the late Vernon George Blades will repose in the Colin Parkinson Memorial Chapel, Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Thursday, November 14, 2019, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
