VICTOR HENRY DAWSON – of Mount Vernon, New York, USA and formerly of Horse Hill, St. Joseph, entered into rest at 70 years. Soldier in the United States Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam Era.
Son of the late Ethel and Denzil (“Fox’) Dawson;
Husband of Hyacinth Dawson
Cherished Father of Lana Dawson (USA) and Keith Odle;
Loving Grandfather of Simone (USA) and Gamar;
Loving Brother of Desmond, Omar, David, Glyne, Sandra (all of the USA) and Denise;
Loving uncle of Sherlon, Ian, Derwin, Nick, Khalil, Dadra, Dedra, Tiffani, Zakkiyya, Khadija, Saedah, Rashaan, Lucita, Melissa, Melanie and Kesha and the late Tafari Dawson (all of the USA).
Nephew of Esmay Hunte, Coreen Harewood, Euel Gill (Trinidad), Arindel Collymore and the late Alberta Taylor, Louis, Millicent and Rufus Giles, Melvin Gill, Margaret Wade and Jerry Collymore.
A host of cousins in the Giles, Gill, Dawson and Collymore families.
Long-standing friend of Braeburn Golf Club and the New Rochelle Cricket Club, New York;
Beloved friend and neighbour of the Mount Vernon community where he lived for the past 52 years prior to arriving in Barbados on Tuesday, October 2 on vacation. The funeral for the late Victor Henry Dawson leaves Lyndhurst Funeral Home, Passage Road, St. Michael on Thursday, October 18, 2018, for St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Parris Hill, St. Joseph where friends and relatives are asked to meet at 3:00 p.m. for a Service of Praise and Thanksgiving in memory of Victor. A second service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Macedonia Baptist Church, Mount Vernon, New York followed by the Interment. No flowers are required however a donation for the upkeep of the church will be appreciated.

Deepest condolences to the family at this painful time. A genuine friend, I can still recall Victor defending me against some bullies when I was younger. With such a friend I could always walk tall. You will be missed. Take your rest in peace.
